As many of our clients are well aware, Roy Platje, the owner of Red, has Type 1 Diabetes. Apart from a sudden cup of coffee with sugar during a long brainstorming session, you don’t notice much of it. Type 1 Diabetes, however, is ever-present and in the long run a devastating disease. RED therefore helps the JDRF to raise money. We do this by contributing ourselves, but also by managing the Google Grants Adwords account.

The JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is an organisation with a mission: to eradicate Type 1 Diabetes from the world. From Type One to Type None.

JDRF was founded in 1970 in the United States by parents of children with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The organisation has since grown to become the leading T1D charitable organisation and has so far funded a total of about $2 billion in T1D research in some 27 countries. In doing so, the organisation has contributed to virtually all scientific progress in the field of this disease.

Since the end of 2010, the Netherlands has had its own JDRF affiliate. To date, JDRF has funded over €20 million worth of groundbreaking research in the Netherlands.

We will occasionally participate in fundraising events with our customers. Like, for example, the Dam-tot-Dam Wieler classic.
