What do you do at Red?
As a Content Marketeer, I help travel and leisure brands tell their stories in the best possible way. I write SEO content, create landing pages and develop social content that inspires people while delivering results. What I enjoy most is diving deep into a brand: finding the right tone of voice and turning complex information into clear, compelling stories.
Tell us about yourself
I was born and raised by the sea in Julianadorp aan Zee, but moved to Utrecht for my studies. That’s where I discovered not only my passion for marketing and communication, but also my love for travel. During my studies, I started my own travel blog, which even became a fun little side income. Over the past few years, I worked and travelled as a digital nomad for a camper-sharing platform, discovering many corners of our planet. From the deserts of Namibia to the Brazilian jungle, from South Korean cities to the coastal villages of Portugal, every destination brought new perspectives and stories that shaped me personally and professionally.
Creativity, curiosity and storytelling are at the heart of everything I do. Outside of work, I love being on the move, regularly packing my tent for a camping trip or festival. Music is also a big part of my life: discovering new artists, going to live shows or simply putting on a good record.
I’m also a true foodie and love spending time by the water (swimming, snorkelling or diving). In my friend group, I’m usually the one who finds the best holiday homes, restaurants and weekend getaways. I can completely lose myself in fantasy series and games, and my fascination with history often leads me to documentaries and stories from the past. Especially Scotland’s bloody and fascinating history has captured my imagination. Chances are I’ll bring it up around a campfire, whisky in hand.
Your favourite holiday destination
This might be the hardest question you can ask a travel lover. If I really have to choose, Scotland and South Africa both hold a special place in my heart. Scotland has something truly magical: the rugged landscapes, ancient castles, mysterious stories and the combination of raw nature and rich history continue to fascinate me. My love for Scotland runs so deep that my friends gifted me a small piece of land there for my 25th birthday. I can now officially call myself the Lady of Lochaber. On the other hand, South Africa completely surprised me with its incredible diversity. From wildlife and breathtaking landscapes to vibrant cities and coastlines, every day there feels like a new adventure.
What inspires you about working in the travel and leisure industry?
What I love about the travel and leisure industry is that it’s all about creating moments that people remember. A weekend getaway, a special holiday or a day out with family, these are the experiences people remember. And often, that experience starts with a story that sparks someone’s imagination. That’s where I believe the power of content lies. With the right words and stories, you do more than inform, you inspire curiosity and help people discover their next adventure. After years of exploring the world myself, it feels extra special to help others do the same.
